We developed an interactive platform for Oxfam Brazil that calculates the impact of taxes on Brazilians' income, highlighting the disparities in the tax system.
About the Project
Follow55, in collaboration with the agency Bolha, was responsible for developing the platform "O Valor do Seu Imposto", an initiative by Oxfam Brasil. The tool allows users to calculate how much tax they pay in relation to their monthly income, highlighting how the Brazilian tax system contributes to social inequality.

01 Discovery
Overview
The idea was to create a tool that would make the complex Brazilian tax system accessible and understandable. Through an intuitive interface, users could view the percentage of their income allocated to taxes and how this amount translates into public services, such as education and healthcare.
02 Identify
The Challenge
The main challenge was to represent complex data in a clear and engaging way, allowing users to understand the injustice of the current tax system. It was essential that the platform was responsive, accessible and conveyed the information in an impactful way.
03 Build
The Solution
Using Vue.js for the front-end structure and Chart.js For graphical visualizations, we developed an interactive platform that calculates and displays, in real time, the impact of taxes on users' income. The interface was designed to be user-friendly and informative, making it easy to understand the data presented.
04 Results
The Impact
The platform “The Value of Your Tax” has become a powerful educational tool, widely used in tax justice awareness campaigns. It has provided citizens with a deeper understanding of how taxes affect different income brackets, fostering debate about the need for more equitable tax reform.
